Acedip Tablet

What is Acedip?

Acedip Tablet is a medicine that is used for the treatment of Hypertension, Severe pain in chest, High blood pressure, Heart attack, Heart failure, Patients of diabetes with kidney failure and other conditions.

Acedip Tablet contains Amlodipine, and Lisinopril as active ingredients.

Acedip Tablet works by relaxing the muscle cells thus reducing blood pressure, force and rate of heartbeat; relaxing the blood vessels.

Increased metabolism with rifampin. Reduced hypotensive effect with calcium. Potentiates effects of thiazide diuretics and ACE inhibitors. Avoid combination with ?-blockers in patients with markedly impaired left ventricular function. May increase serum levels of CYP1A2 substrates e.g. aminophylline, fluvoxamine, ropinirole. CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g. clarithromycin, doxycycline, isoniazid, nicardipine) may increase the effects of amlodipine. Additive BP-lowering effects when used with sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil.

Lisinopril should not be taken with potassium supplements or diuretics that conserve potassium, for example, hydrochlorothiazide/triamterene (Dyazide), since blood potassium levels may rise to dangerous levels. There have been reports of increased lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid) levels when lithium is used in combination with ACE inhibitors. There have been reports that aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as ibuprofen (Advil, Children’s Advil/Motrin, Medipren, Motrin, Nuprin, PediaCare Fever, and many others), indomethacin (Indocin, Indocin-SR), and naproxen (Anaprox, Naprelan, Naprosyn, Aleve) may reduce the effects of ACE inhibitors.

—–How it works—–

Amlodipine blocks the action of calcium on the heart and blood vessels. As a result, blood vessels are relaxed and heart beats with less force. This lowers the blood pressure, abnormally fast heart beat and protects the heart following a heart attack.

Lisinopril relaxes blood vessels which lowers blood pressure and also reduces the workload of the heart.

Amlodipine is used for increased blood pressure and angina.

Lisinopril is used in the treatment of increased blood pressure , heart failure, heart attack and diabetic kidney disease.
