Overview

Your LDL goal is less than 130 mg/dL. If your LDL is greater than or equal to 130 mg/dL, TLC dietary and other lifestyle changes will be recommended as a cholesterol-lowering strategy. If your LDL cholesterol level is 160 mg/dL or more, your health care professional may also recommend drug therapy.
  • Lower risk means you have one or no risk factors for heart disease or heart attack. Your LDL goal is less than 160 mg/dL.If your LDL is 160 mg/dL or above, you should start the TLC diet.
